Adidas have been treating some lucky people to a whole host of treats over the past few weeks.
To round things off Adidas hosted a massive gig at London’s Scala last Monday where all of these artists joined forces to give 800 lucky competition winners the gig of their lives.
First up on the bill were working class crusaders The Enemy. Their tales of small town life and factory closures may be a bit meat and potatoes but the lads, all adorned in iconic adidas tracksuit tops, certainly got the troops rallied for the night ahead.
Groups of lads, all wearing timelessly stylish adidas gear stomped buoyantly in the front row and bellowed every single word of their small town anthems.
Finally man of the moment, Plan B, hits the stage with his suited and booted backing band. Ben Drew has smoothed his rough edges since he emerged with his Hip-Hop tour de force ‘Who Needs Actions When You’ve Got Words’ in 2006 and a change of direction has certainly paid off for him. After taking best male at The Brits and in the wake of a successful US tour, this show at The Scala acted as a lap of honour in front of a home crowd for the boy from East London done good. Effortlessly ploughing through his seamless modern soul classics, Plan B had the crowd singing back every word and beaming throughout.
To round things off dubstep party boy, Caspa, kept the crowd going to till the early hours with a set of good old fashioned wobble-centric dubstep. Plenty of adidas baseball caps on show down the front as the crowd descends into a sweaty mass of swaggering two-steps. A fitting end to a night that lived up to its grand title.
